A Glimpse into Pordamsa's Imagination to Masterpiece Process
Introduction
At Pordamsa, we are captivated by the transformative power of craftsmanship. Each piece begins as a spark of inspiration, born from our imagination and the demands of the ever-evolving high cuisine market, where creativity reigns supreme. Welcome, as we walk you through of the underscored by manual craftsmanship and an unwavering attention to detail.
Handcrafted Process
Every Pordamsa creation, whether porcelain or glass, is crafted, fired, and polished by hand, with a steadfast commitment to detail and quality. Our designers and modelers collaborate closely to construct models, which are then used to create master molds and subsequent casting molds.
This careful, hands-on approach ensures that each piece is shaped to perfection before the manufacturing process begins in earnest. After which, each piece is further shaped by an artisan detailing imperfections and polishing them by hand.
Composed of 100% raw materials of kaolin, feldspar, and quartz, it has high resistance and density, thanks to a two firing method, first at 800°F and a second time at 1400°F.
Commodities
PORCELAIN
Our porcelain is a testament to durability and elegance. While porcelain, stoneware, and earthenware share similarities, our porcelain stands out for its superior quality and resilience.
GLASS
We make only the finest glassware, offering an array of unique shapes and textures that harmonize beautifully with other Pordamsa elements. Each glass item is handcrafted and meticulously polished by hand. Our glass is 100% food-safe and non-porous, ensuring it does not harbor microorganisms that could cause contamination.
WOOD
To create inviting and warm atmospheres, we have integrated solid oak and walnut into our collection of porcelain and glass products. These natural materials complement our pieces perfectly, enhancing the presentation of any gastronomic concept with their rich, warm tones.
Finishing
In our porcelain manufacturing process, biscuit-fired pieces are glazed with a mixture of quartz, feldspar, kaolin, and various thinning agents. The high quartz content creates a very hard surface when fired, with the glaze melting and fusing with the body to form an inseparable bond. Our unique finishing technique often combines glossy and matt glazes on a single piece, with the matte areas, known as biscuit porcelain, providing a striking contrast to the glossy sections.
At Pordamsa, our dedication to craftsmanship is evident in every piece we create, blending traditional methods with modern innovation to produce stunning, functional art for the culinary world.
