The States, a growing market in terms of gastronomy

France is the birthplace of gastronomy, nobody denies that, but the expansion of this art and profession is more and more global. One example is El Bulli and the whole school created by Ferrán Adrià. Passion for gastronomy is not only found in the old European continent; it has reached every last corner of the planet, as is the case with the United States. The Oscars gala charity dinner recently took place, and not only was the dinner itself important but also the choice of one of the world's best restaurants, El Celler de Can Roca. The Roca brothers prepared their unique cuisine but with products from California, to guarantee the quality, fresh raw ingredients, and brought non-perishable ingredients such as olive oil and Jerez vinegar to Hollywood. El Celler de Can Roca has been voted one of the world's best restaurants on various occasions by the 50 Best Restaurants ranking and the same list recognized the New York restaurant Eleven Park Madison, with chef Daniel Humm, as the world's best restaurant for last year (2017). A clear sign of the relevance gastronomy is acquiring in the United States of America.
The States, unexplored territory
North America has many restaurants, but at the moment only four cities/regions appear in the Michelin Guide: New York, Washington, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Little by little, the States is making its way onto the gastronomic map; it will be interesting to see its progress over the next few years.
